Name: Nepeta Leijon
Series: Homestuck
Canon Point: Post-death
Reference: Nep @ the MSPA Wikia
Age: 6 solar sweeps (about 13 Earth years), but aged up to 10 or so sweeps (18 Earth years)
Gender: Female in both body and spirit.
Suitability: :33< In Alternian society, trolls mature much more quickly than humans, and even so, Sgrub forced them to grow up even quicker. Their culture is built on violence, and the trolls are acclimated to killing those of a lower blood than them- and are justified in it.
:33< In fact, on Alternia, if the drones arrive and you don't have genetic material to submit to the Mother Grub, you are killed on the spot. No questions asked.
:33< Nepeta especially is privy to the workings of the heart, as both an avid roleplayer and a troll who is devoted to transcribing her furriends' exploits in the four quadrants on her shipping wall. It's fairly easy for her to keep track of these things, and she's no amateur at telling flushed from pale.
:33< She also likes to hunt/kill animals, and wear her kills' pelts and paint in their blood. If that's not a little gruesome for a kid's pastime, I don't know what is.
Appearance: Since growing up a little, Nepeta is now a little taller, but as trolls go, she is still of small stature. She is also a little curvier, which makes pouncing things that much more fun! On the other hand, since Nepeta is entering the game post-death, she will arrive with extensive, dark olive green bruising from being beaten to death. These will eventually (but slowly) heal.
Background: Taking the Trollian handle arsenicCatnip, Nepeta represents Leo (and these three things are connected in very cool and clever ways because Hussie is a word/name wiz like that.) With her two-mouthed cat lusus guardian, Pounce de Leon, and she grew up hunting and going on adventures in purrsuit of the Fountain of Cute! Then, when the trolls received SGRUB and they were required to form two teams, there was some dispute as to which one she would join- she was invited to join the Red Team by Terezi, but Equius, her meowrail, demanded that she be on the Blue Team with him. In the game, she made her way up the echeladder, but ultimately did not rise to the god tier, just as most of the other trolls did not make it, nor did they actually win the game. While they were trapped in the Veil in the Farthest Ring, she recreated her shipping wall on a larger scale, and mostly stayed by Equius' side until Equius: Seek the Highbl00d, when Gamzee is on the bloodpath and Equius instructs her to go hide.
Personality: Nepeta is a furriendly roleplayer, and generally quite clawdial to others! (If you didn't notice yet, she is also quite adorably given to using cat puns.) However, Karkat has (in canon) called her autistic, and we don't know if this is actual canon or just Karkat being a fuckass like usual. There is some truth to it, though- the seriousness with which she regards her shipping wall can be seen as absolutely silly by others, and she is rather naive about most aspects of the world. She tends to keep a playful tone when trolling others, which she often uses to disarm those who are often quite upset or angry.
In her moirallegiance to Equius Zahhak, she tends to see herself as his pacifier- he has been known to work himself to a fever pitch, and she is the one who can effectively calm him down. In return, Equius acts as a sort of protector, and treats her with something between affection and protectiveness that borders on possessive. While they do bicker sometimes, they both care very d33ply for one another, and go so far as to say that they are lucky to have one another looking out for them. When Equius is killed by Gamzee, we see even more so how pale Nepeta's f33lings for him are- she hurls herself out in the open to avenge him, only to be stopped by Gamzee, who throws her to the ground and beats her to her own death.
(Note: references to her typing quirk have been made throughout this entire app. She also tends to put actions in asterisks, *as such*.)
Character Powers/Abilities/Skills: Nepeta is adept at keeping a track of relationships among her friends, as evidenced in her rather extensive shipping wall. She also is quite proficient at stalking and hunting prey, as her cave is lined with the skins of past quarries, and fights using her clawkind strife specibus. She is also a devoted roleplayer!
SAMPLES
First Person Sample:
[ At first, all you see is a flash of orange horns and a bright blue hat, then everything is a blur as the mirror is shaken. ]
Hello? Did I turn it on furrectly? [ Ah, there's her face! She smiles toothily (fangily?) at the mirror. ]
Is there a way to see who all is here? Beclaws, you see... I was hoping to find my furriend. And not just any furriend- I'm looking for my meowrail.
Equius, are you here? If you're here and you still haven't found me, I'd say you're being a really pawful furriend, and I don't want to say that about you! [ She sticks her tongue out at the mirror. ]
I guess that's all I wanted to know right meow. Bye, everyone! [ And with that, the mirror blinks off. ]
Third Person Sample: At first, all Nepeta can see is sand- endless miles of sand, and heat. She's confused at first- before, she was simply in a dream bubble, after all- but she simply sits up and stares for a few minutes, before dropping to all fours and simply loping away in search of some kind of oasis or a source of water. She's stopped, however, when something crash-lands right in front of her.
Nepeta begins to wind back, tail switching back and forth, preparing to pounce. As she springs forward, she's caught offguard by the djinn's attack. Flailing at first, she begins to fight back after minute, but it's no use- the monster she's trying to fend off is almost as powerful as Jack Noir was. Not helping her cause, the olive bruises that cover her body protest in a chorus of pain and tenderness with each blow that connects with her body.
Before more damage can come to her, however, a shadow falls over them. Nepeta looks up to find a beautiful woman reaching in to pull her away from her attacker, before launching an assault of her own. Nepeta finds her way to her feet and begins to use her own claws and fangs to make coordinated attacks with the woman. As they begin to gain the upper hand, the djinn's attacks get desperate, until eventually it backs away and retreats.
Nepeta falls to her knees, tired; for being in a dream bubble for so long, she certainly didn't expect to be so out of purractice. The shadow falls over her once more, and she opens her eyes to the beautiful woman peering down at her imploringly.
"Most fine feline and wizened warrior of a distant and honorable land," the woman begins, "I must beseech you for your benevolence."
